Frequently asked questions

What is the Lagos Wholesale Price (LWP)?
This represents the minimum price at which we are able to sell the vehicle to the customer. Your vehicle is shipped to TinCan Island in a container. After our agent clears it, you may view and test drive it. If you choose to buy it, we will have you deposit funds in a bank account in Lagos. Once the bank notifies us that the funds have cleared (usually within 3 days), the car will be released to you.
Because you take posession of the vehicle at the ports, we are able to sell it at minimum cost.
I understand that as Nigerians, we like to haggle. However, the LWP represents the minimum price we can offer the vehicle. The margins have been deliberately set at the barest minimum, to facilitate a quick turnover. As a result, no further discount is available beyond this price.
Please do NOT  ask for one.

How do you ship the cars?
All cars are shipped in a container.

Why do you only import Hondas and Toyotas?
Because they are the most reliable cars in the world!
Cars that are imported to Nigeria must be reliable. Owners cannot afford to have cars that require frequent visits to the mechanic.  Furthermore, parts must also be readily available locally. Consumer reports, an independent non-profit organization that samples opinions from millions of US consumers, has consistently ranked Hondas and Toyotas in the highest class for reliability and customer satisfaction. These Japanese car makers make superior, well engineered cars that can last decades IF THEY ARE WELL MAINTAINED.  By changing your oil every 3000 miles and servicing your car as recommended by the manufacturer, these engines can give you over 300,000 miles of use.
These are the reasons we favor these manufacturers.

Do you Import other Brands of Vehicles?
Absolutely! We can special order anything.

How can I Special Order a Vehicle?
Send me an e-mail, indicating the year, make, model and specification of the vehicle you are interested in.
I will send you a quote for the vehicle that includes the price of the vehicle, cost of insurance, shipping and custom clearance.
If the pricing is acceptable to you, we will sign a legally binding contarct with my partner in Nigeria. You will pay the full price. My partner will remit your funds to me in the US. I will purchase and ship the vehicle to Tin can Island.
I will communicate with you regularly, to appraise you of my progress.
I will forward the Bill of Laden to the clearing agent who will begin the papework prior to the ship's docking at port. After customs clearance, my agent will hand you over the keys to your car and you are free to drive your new baby away.

What is your commission?
For used vehicles, 7% and for brand new vehicles, 5% of purchase price.
My commission is higher on used vehicles since I have to work harder to locate a decent car at a good price.
For a brand new vehicle that originates straight from the dealer, a non-refundable US sales tax of 7% is also charged.
